JALKI is a permanent registry for physical things. Register an object, capture what makes it identifiable, and let its record accumulate attestations and history over time — an append-only account of where a thing has been and who has vouched for it.

A thing leaves a mark
JALKI means the trace left behind — a footprint, a track. Every physical object leaves marks as it is made, held, moved and verified. The registry gives those marks a permanent place to live.

Identity before ownership
Before an object can be owned, transferred or insured, it must first be identified. Registration assigns a durable record identifier and captures what makes the object unmistakably itself.

Claims are attestations
Anyone can attest to something about an object — its authenticity, condition, provenance or custody. Attestations stack. Two or more standing attestations resolve an object to a verified state.

History is append-only
Nothing in an object's record is overwritten. Each registration, attestation, transfer and verification is a new event on the line — a legible, chronological account of the object's life.
